Michael Cook and Vincent Namatjira have been curated into a major exhibition Indigenous Australia: Enduring Civilisation at the British Museum.
Drawing on objects from the British Museums' collection and accompanied by important loans from British and Australian collections, the exhibition explores Indigenous Australia as a living culture with a continuous history dating back 60,000 years. Objects in the exhibition range from a shield believed to have been collected by Captain Cook at Botany Bay in 1770, to contemporary paintings and specially commissioned artworks by leading Indigenous artists.
