Petrina Hicks: Australian Centre for Photography

Petrina Hicks is featured in Synthetic, at the Australian Centre of Photography from 21 July - 26 August 2017.

While the boundaries between the real and artificial rapidly collide, and early science-fiction inventions are no longer stories on a page but aspects of our reality, this exhibition presents photographic and videoworks caught between the predictive past and imagined future.

Assembling works from artists Simon Del Favero, Vincent Fournier, David Greenhalgh, Petrina Hicks, David Manley, Soda_Jerk and Garry Trinh, Synthetic invites the viewer to consider our relation to and understanding of technology, time and the natural world.
