As a Bidjara photographic artist, Cook’s work is a reflection of his personal experiences as a mixed-heritage Aboriginal man. He often invites viewers to question what makes an authentic life and explores the legacy of colonisation. His 2023 series, Fake, tells the story of an Indigenous couple and their adopted child on a road trip through the Australian outback. As they journey through remote locations, the family discovers a deeper connection to their culture and the land.
