IN THE GALLERY: Walking Practice

We’re excited to present Olivia Chin’s second solo exhibition in the gallery, Walking Practice.

Walking Practice is an exhibition of works transcribed from sketches made on the Jatbula Trail, outside Katherine in the Northern Territory.

The walk takes place on ancient tablelands of extraordinary plant life and geology, carrying thousands of years of memory.

The works hold something of the duration of a body moving through space: sensory accumulation, days on country, the felt weight of land and its histories.

Alongside that gravity, the particular joy of moving slowly enough to actually see.
