These works are a negotiation of abstraction and representation, concerning perceptual painting as well as more formal qualities such as composition and material delivery. Sourced imagery from screen grabs of environmental phenomena and natural disasters consider the role of ‘picture making’ from the solitude of the studio to the greater world we live in.
