“GHOST BABY” at first could be seen as a mockery of the artist himself, a slang title created as a name for a Westerner who may be seen drinking strawberry Fanta, also known as Fanta Nam Daeng, a red drink typically offered in spirit houses. Red is a lucky color. Red is the color of blood and is the replacement for a blood sacrifice. It’s a symbolic offering of life force. As is the body of work. It’s a life force, touching on history, popular culture, nostalgia, politics and trauma view contemporary spirit houses rooted in pre-Neolithic animism and paintings to deter any malign spirits from entering the inimitable gallery that is known as TARS.
