Petrina Hicks: Highly Commended in Olive Cotton Award

Petrina Hicks was honoured with a Highly Commended Award in the prestigious Olive Cotton Award for Excellence in Photographic Portraiture. Judge Helen Ennis, Head of the School of Art at the Australian National University, said the four highly commended works held her attention due to the 'clarity of the photographers' approaches to portraiture and the different kinds of relationships they had with their subjects.'
Petrina is currently also a finalist in the National Artists' Self-Portrait Prize, an invitation-only prize run by the University of Queensland Art Museum. The winner will be announced in October.
